Tasting notes

Select vineyards form the Western Sonoma Coast are our most affordable, but by no means less in character and complexity. These vineyards are cooler climate and so the wine is fresher, with highly focused fruit purity and delineation. Again, puncheon and open top fermenters and like the others, whole berry fermentation. The wine is vibrant and complex with subtle dark fruits and berries, grandmother’s cherry pie, flowers, minerals, and a slight touch of rain-soaked earth,

intertwined with a balance and very pleasing easy-going luxury. Should have been priced higher but what the hell. —JAYSON WOODBRIDGE

Viticulture

Each hillside vineyard site is chosen for the generous slope, unique sequence of Goldridge soils, ranging from 900-1900 feet above sea level, and microclimate to add dimension to the wines. A rare, fine-grained sandy loam, Goldridge soils are known for excellent drainage, and a characteristically light and fluffy texture. Some of the particularly unique sites have Goldridge layered on top of ancient seabed where finding fossils in the soil is not unusual and a clay content that helps the soil retain precious moisture during the growing season. The coastal climate of the region is marked by warm, dry summers and cool, damp winters.
